Flow-drilling simultaneously drills and flutes the metal to produce a bushing 3 times the initial metal thickness. The socket produced is used as a bearing or to receive tappings, braze fittings... A second tapping operation by deformation produces a very solid tapped bushing without the need for additional parts: inserts, welded nuts, etc.
These different flow-drilling, tapping or drilling heads are generally integrated on our NC or existing lines to combine multiple operations such as notching, punching, forming, sawing, shearing, marking.... These lines generally enable our customers to replace traditional machining centers, and thus optimize production costs (output, investment, consumables, etc.). We also offer shearing and punching lines for profiles.
Advantage of fluo-drilling :
- More reliable than an insert
- Chip-free
- Cost-effective process
