The expansion process increases the cross-section of a tube by spreading the jaws apart. Depending on the level of precision required, the tooling can comprise from 2 to 12 jaws.
The extrusion process deforms a sheet or tube to form a shape by pressing a punch into a die. The result is a connecting flange that simplifies or eliminates the need to weld 2 parts together.
